Cancer can strike anyone at any time. It brings darkness and despair to many families.
But when our Maggie’s Centre was built over a decade ago, it brought with it light, love and support for those in Fife living with cancer.
Find out more about why it is such a special place that you should have in your heart.
Built on the grounds of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy over 13 years ago, Maggie’s Fife is a warm and welcoming spaces for you and your family to make your own.
A safe place to come and be supported through a cancer diagnosis.
Each centre is unique and designed to create a combination of light and comfort, so you feel at home.
Just come in at any time and keep coming in, you don’t need an appointment and all our support is free.
This is your space, everything here is designed with you in mind to feel more like home.
There’s no reception desk, no signs on the wall, no name badges, no clocks as we want you to be here as long as you want.
We are here to listen to what you need and help you find it. Come back as often as you want and we will always be here.
The kettle is always on, so make yourself a cup of tea and join others at the kitchen table, find a space to take a quiet moment to be by yourself or talk to us.
You are always welcome.
The team at Maggie’s Fife is here to help you through any part of a cancer diagnosis.
Alison and Rosie are our Cancer Support Specialists who have worked in the oncology as nurses for many years.
Our Benefits Advisor, Melanie, can navigate and guide you through the complicated benefits system and make sure that you are claiming for the correct benefits when you are not working and have limited income.
Adele is our Counselling Psychologist and is here to support anyone who may need more in depth support.
She will also see couples and families too.
Maggie’s also has a fundraising team, Tu and Louise.
They fundraise for the centre as it is only through the amazing fundraisers and businesses in the community who support Maggie’s that the centre is open to so many people.
Last year in 2019 the centre had over 8600 visits through the door, its busiest year to date.
