Queen Scene Queens of Kindness

Our campaign moves ON

This week has been EPIC!

Not only are the donations flooding into the Beauty Spots across Fife, but I managed to get out and about and collect TWO carloads from some of the Kirkcaldy donation points. And a big thank you to Boots Kirkcaldy for donating £130 worth of toiletries to the Robertson’s Cafe Beauty Spot!

I dropped over 20 bags off to Kirkcaldy Foodbank on Tuesday morning and they were amazed and overwhelmed by the amount you’ve collected – well done!

Dunfermline, Burntisland, Glenrothes and Cupar Foodbanks are now also ready to receive donations in these areas.

I am totally amazed at the response so far and want to thank every person and business involved.

Donations made locally will stay locally because I know that’s important to you.

I was also chuffed to bits to be able to visit Balwearie High School and collect bags of donations from kind hearted staff and pupils there too.

I need a new word that’s bigger than thank you! It just doesn’t seem to cover it.

Moving ON…

The next piece of news is massive…I’m delighted to announce that Fife’s Cultural Trust, ONFife have chosen to support the campaign and have pledged to have Beauty Spots for you to donate in libraries and venues across Fife – including Adam Smith Theatre and Rothes Halls.

I can’t quite believe it but I am so humbled and grateful.

To have ONFife back my campaign and arrange to have so many prominent venues take part is a massively big deal and I’d like to thank ONFife Chief Executive Heather Stuart and all her staff for their generosity and support in raising awareness for what I’m trying to do.

Heather told me why she wanted to add the support of ONFife: “The choices faced by people living in poverty are stark but no one should have to decide between basic hygiene or feeding their children,”

“Our hope is that by backing the Beauty Banks project and setting up drop-off points at many of our venues, people in Fife, who have already proven generous to food banks, will show their support by donating basic essentials that many of us take for granted.”

The full list of donation points including those at ONFife libraries and venues can be found here.
