Maiya’s Light

A series of life events plunged Louise Anderson into an unknown place.

But when she discovered Reiki, things changed for her and since then, the only was has been up!

Read all about her journey.

In 2005 whilst working as a Social Worker with young people, I experienced a number of stressful life events.  I went from being someone who could manage a high level of stress to being in a complete black hole!

Discovering Reiki

I was blown away by the effects, particularly on my mental health.

On return to work I said to my bosses we should be offering Reiki to the children, so they sent me off to train as a Reiki practitioner.

And so the journey began!

This ignited my passion to learn as much as I could about Holistic therapies, and about how to keep myself and others well.

Six years later I set up Maiya’s Light, named after my daughter, as I wanted a name which was all about positive energy!

Maiya later had a huge influence on the work I do with children at Maiya’s Light after she started having issues with anxiety and struggling to sleep.

This led to me learning Story Massage, which I now teach parents and children, alongside using calm down techniques and holistic therapies.

Where am I now?

I am a mum of two really happy confident girls.

Maiya’s Light has grown into a Holistic therapy and wellbeing business for adults and children.

I have become a Reiki Master and now have the huge privilege of teaching Reiki.

The next stage is to take the work I do out into communities and organisations to really help all ages to look after their wellbeing.

No matter what life throws at us, I really belief we all have the capacity not just to heal but to grow!

Winnie the pooh said it best

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think”
