Rose Bentley-Steed is a florist who set up the popular Kirkcaldy shop the Flower Ranger just a year ago.
She gives the Queendom her top three picks for bridal flowers.
Over a number of years I developed a passion and knowledge of flowers and plants in a creative way, but it was just over a year a year ago that I decided to pack up my office bags to set up my own floristy business in the High Street.
I love doing what I do, and being a florist and botanical artist allows me to extend that creativity!
My favourite three flowers
Strangely, that is a real difficult question for any florist as there are so many flowers out there, and depending on how they compliment with each other and what mood I’m in.
But, if I had to choose it would be Hellebores in the Winter, Dahlias in Autumn and Scabiose in the Summer especially the ones called velvet scoop!
My style is very boho and vintage, a bit cutting-edge if there are no boundaries!
I love using country garden flowers, and try to support the local Fife flower farmers during the growing season.
It’s a busy time of the year where I get to work with brides and help them on their journey towards achieving beautiful flowers for their big day…it’s a real privilege and honour!
Being a florist is more than just offering flowers, it’s about providing an experience, building real genuine connections with my clients whatever the occasion, quite often listening out, and playing a part in sharing their emotional experiences and journeys together.
Quite often we become friends too.
